Cellphone tops consumer complaints in Central Luzon

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Central Luzon received 60 cellphone-related complaints in the first half of 2016.

“Our provincial office in Bataan received the most number of complaints at 18 followed by Bulacan and Zambales with 12 each, Nueva Ecija with 8, Pampanga with 7, and Tarlac with 3,” DTI Regional Director Judith Angeles said.

Most of the complaints were on defective cellphones and warranty issues.

“Again, we remind our consumers to be vigilant when purchasing cellphones, tablets and other gadgets,” Angeles stressed.

Last year, DTI partnered with National Telecommunications Commission in the conduct of seminar-workshops and dialogues to orient consumers on their rights and sellers on their responsibilities to the buying public. (PR)
