Central Luzon based SM malls hold annual joint tactical inspection

Joint Tactical Inspection (JTI) and General Assembly is an annual event conducted by the Customer Relations Services (CRS) Department and Security Force of SM malls in Pampanga, Clark, Olongapo, San Fernando Downtown and Telabastagan. Composed of Security personnel from selected security agencies that operate under the security division of the SM Group of Companies, the division, comprised the security force handling both mall and the department stores security functions including some of SM affiliates.

In the early part of 2004, the division recognize what was formerly a single CRS unit became CRS Retail, in charge of the department store and Shopping Center Management Corporation (SCMC) CRS, focused on handling the malls security more particularly the mall area and its entrances, carpark areas, perimeter and traffic. Likewise, Food Retail Group (FRG) security main task is to provide basic security services to Supermarket and stand-alone Savemore branches. It is CRS’s commitment to provide security and safety to all its customers, employees, and tenants and its desire to always assure the mall going public of a secured environment within the SM Supermalls and its affiliates.

Spearheaded by its Senior Vice President Almus Alabe, the objective of the activity is to inspect and check the readiness of the security guards assigned in SM Supermalls, SM Retail Group and its affiliates. This event is done in partnership with operations and the security agency providers. During the JTI, uniforms and equipment are checked and inspected to conform to the standards set by the company and the minimum requirements of the Philippine National Police Supervisory Office on Security and Investigation Agencies (PNP-SOSIA).

The inspection is done individually, from head to foot, following a very distinct and unique procedures. The inspection is not a fault finding activity but more on a corrective measures to ensure that guards are always dressed, equipped and supplied completely by the respective Security providers. Aside from the individual clothing and equipment, armaments and issued firearms are also inspected.

Communication equipment and other support gadgets are also tested to ensure that they are always functional and ready to use. Likewise, its goals is to assist the guards in the performance on their mandated tasks in the SM malls and its affiliates nationwide.

Narvin Mangune, CRS SCMC/SMPHI Senior Assistant Vice President Almus Alabe, Assistant Vice President CRS SM Retail Charleston Tan, Assistant Vice President for Food Retail Group Victor Santiago.

Also present are CRS Regional Manager Leroy Barrion, CRS Managers Lorenz Montemayor, Gorge Sumang, Anthony Guiao, Francis Velasco, Michael Mungcal. In partnership with Mall Operations spearheaded by Vice President Engr. Bien Mateo, Assistant Vice President-OIC Engr. Junias Eusebio, SM City Clark Mall Manager Andrea Madlangbayan with Assistant Mall Managers Alan Parungao and Ronald Abrazado, Sm City Pampanga Mall Manager Aaron Montenegro with Assistant Mall Managers Jerwin Jalandoni and Raquel Chua, SM City San Fernando Downtown Mall Manager Lana Erroba and SM City Olongapo Mall Manager Mark Herrera.

Security Agency providers present are Bantayan, Lion Integrated, RJC, Panther Integrated Security Services Inc., Royal, Legaspi Security and Investigation Agency Inc., Red Eye II, Philippine Airhawk, Right Eight, New Manela, North Point and St Anthony Security Agencies

An awarding of Certificate of Commendation to some security personnel who have shown exemplary performance worthy of praise and emulations signed by SM Supermalls President Hans T. Sy.
