City Tourism Holds ‘1st Olongapo Kampeyon sa Lutuan Cooking Festival’ at SM Olongapo

The City Tourism Office in partnership with SM City Olongapo Downtown launched the Ist Olongapo Cooking Festival , dubbed as “Kampeyon sa Lutuan” in line with the celebration of Nutrition Month. The challenge was to prepare a Filipino a la carte dishes which highlighted the use of malunggay for the appetizer, bamboo shoot (labong) for the main course, and saba for the dessert as the main ingredient.

The event was open to school colleges with HRM and Culinary courses, 17 Barangays and Indigenous People (IP) of Olongapo.  “This is the very first cooking festival in the city and we’re very happy to launch this event in SM. Of course with the blessing of our Mayor Atty. Rolen “Lenj” Paulino, City Tourism was able to activate this event successfully, Thank you to all the participants and partners,” remarked Fifi Legaspi, City Tourism head.

Appetizer Category (Malunggay) -Grand Winner: Team Vikings of Lyceum of Subic Bay, Ist Prize: Team Sharks of Lyceum of Subic Bay, 2nd Prize: Team Ron & MM of Brgy. Old Cabalan.

Main Course Category(Labong/Bamboo Shoot)– Grand Winner: Team Vikings of Lyceum of Subic Bay, 1st Prize: Ambhoolicious is Delicious of Brgy. Old Cabalan, 2nd Prize: Team Lion of Lyceum of Subic Bay.

Dessert Category(Saba)– Grand Winner: Team Ron & MM of Brgy. Old Cabalan, 1st Prize: Team Lion of Lyceum of Subic Bay, 2nd Prize: Ambhoolicious is Delicious of Brgy Old Cabalan.(30)
