Twelve Aeta families including seven teachers belonging to the Indigenous Peoples (IP) community in Pampanga were the beneficiaries from Clark Marriott Hotel’s “Adopt-a-Community” Project, in partnership with Clark Development Corporation (CDC).
In celebration of its founding anniversary, Marriott International sets aside a week yearly to recognize all its associates for their hard work and relentless spirit to drive the business forward. As a culminating activity to Clark Marriott’s Associate Appreciation Week 2022, the associates, spearheaded by the TakeCare Champions, distributed groceries and school supplies to selected Aeta families. Aside from this, the guests enjoyed a hearty breakfast and kids were entertained with fun activities like balloon twisting and face painting.
The event was graced by Clark Marriott General Manager Goeran Soelter, Director of Human Resources Carmen Siongco, Director of Sales Jenny Rivera, Director of Rooms Rizza Lacson, Director of Food and Beverage Lyle Kelvin Cajayon, Director of Finance Diana Lazo, Assistant Director of Finance Jinky Singian, Executive Housekeeper Dan Valera, and Loss Prevention Manager Ronnie Manalastas.
For its part, CDC through its External Affairs Division–Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm, coordinated with tribal communities-beneficiaries, and handled logistics to pick up the Aetas from Barangays Haduan, Sta. Rosa, Buok, San Martin, Bliss, and Marcos.
