Cong Pogi first 100 days: 1,881 residents in First District received free medicines

FIRST DISTRICT, Pampanga – In the first 100 days of Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. as Representative of the Pampanga First District, a total of 1,881 residents in the First District received free medicines.

From July 1 to date, 1,285 residents in Angeles City, 555 residents in Mabalacat City, and 37 residents in Magalang Municipality have received various free medicines, delivered right to their doorstep by staff from Lazatin’s District Office.

On July 24, Lazatin also launched a Mobile Clinic Program to help deliver medical services to far-flung locations in the First District of Pampanga.

Aside from medicines, the Mobile Clinic also has an in-house Medical Technologist conducting basic blood work for patients.

Lazatin has always prioritized making public health services accessible, especially to vulnerable sectors.

Back in August, Lazatin announced that he is set to request P40 million pesos funding for the rehabilitation of Rural Health Units (RHUs) in Mabalacat City and Magalang Municipality in 2026.

On September 25, Lazatin met with RHU physicians from the First District and assured that more Rural Health Units (RHUs) will be built in Mabalacat City and Magalang Municipality during his term.

“Ginawa ko po yan nung Mayor ako ng Angeles, at gagawin din po natin ito para sa Mabalacat at Magalang ngayong Congressman na tayo ng Primero Distrito,” Lazatin said.

According to Lazatin, preparation for the construction of RHUs may commence as soon as the local governments of Mabalacat and Magalang are able to identify a suitable location.

“We will sit down with Mayors Aquino and Lacson since the additional RHUs will also require additional plantilla for doctors, nurses, dentists, health aides, and admin aides, as well as additional MOOE that will be funded by the LGUs,” Lazatin said.
