CSF adds more lights along JASA, McArthur Highway

Motorists, commuters, and pedestrians can now expect brighter and safer roads as the City Government of San Fernando started installing additional street lights along two of the city’s major thoroughfares and other key areas.

The measure, which is under the all-year-round illumination project of the City Government, will focus on Jose Abad Santos Avenue and McArthur Highway, along with Lazatin Boulevard, Capitol Boulevard, and Poblacion area.

City Engineer Anele David said they are targeting to conduct a “pole-to-pole” scheme for the installation of street lights at a maximum distance of 40 meters between two units.

Using light-emitting diode (LED), she explained, the units will be brighter and power efficient compared to other light types.

Since 2020, the City Government has been using energy-saving technologies for its illumination program while, for other main key areas, like public parks/plazas and the Civic Center in San Isidro, solar-powered lights are being utilized.
