CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Central Luzon’s regional center played host Monday to the kick-off of the 2019 National Family Week celebration.
In his message, Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista said his agency recognizes the importance of families in building a solid and united society in achieving national growth and development.
He stressed that a strong family largely contributes to a progressive nation and law-abiding citizens.
“A thinking family develops in its members moral and spiritual attitudes which then develop into values of peace and social responsibility,” he added.
For his part, City of San Fernando Mayor Edwin Santiago said the local government always prioritize projects that advocate on welfare of families. The city’s programs always consider “Programang Pantao at Pampamilya.”
This year’s celebration is anchored on the theme “Tungo sa Maginhawa, Matatag, at Panatag na Pamilyang Pilipino.”
It envisions better initiatives to strengthen the Filipino Family to a new generation and the pledge with what the Duterte administration is committed to achieve— a comfortable, strong, and peaceful life for all Filipinos.
The 2019 celebration also carries the subtheme “Kalusugan Pangkaisipan ng Pamilyang Pilipino” which highlights the importance of bringing sound mental health among members of the family.
