DINALUPIHAN, Bataan– Dinalupihan Mayor Maria Angela Garcia will introduce another program to help drug reformists continue their transformation to become productive members of the community.
“Ang next step po natin ay ang magbukas ng community based, community based maintenance bridging program kung saan yung 30 days dito na hindi naman talaga sapat ay maipagpatuloy natin sa once a week, 1 hour sessions kasama muli ang kanilang pamilya at barangay officials para talagang ma strengthen natin itong programa natin sa Bahay Pagbabago.
In this project, the Dinalupihan LGU headed by Mayor Garcia is being supported by various government agencies like the PNP, PDEA, DOH, TESDA, the private sector and the religious sector.
Last week, Mayor Garcia and Bataan PPO Provincial Director, Police Col. Villamor Tuliao led the graduation rites of the 22nd batch of drug reformists at the Dinalupihan’s Community-Based Bahay Pagbabago.
Bahay Pagbabago serves as reformation center and temporary shelter that rehabilitates drug users and dealers who have surrendered to the police.
This rehabilitation facility is Mayor Garcia’s response to the challenge posed by the number of surrenderers who had volunteered to undergo reform to help them set free from illegal drugs abuse.
“So far nakapagpa-graduate na tayo ng 957 reformists at hopefully one to two batches na lang po ang kailangan nating ipa-enrol ulit ditto sa Bahay Pagbabago para matapos na po natin yung mga nag surrender,” Mayor Garcia told this reporter.
