DINAMULAG MANGO SEASON BOOSTS ZAMBALES ECONOMY

IBA, Zambales—The onset of the Dinamulag mango season is expected to provide a fresh boost to the local economy as Zambales opens one of its most anticipated harvest periods, anchored on a fruit long regarded as among the province’s finest agricultural products.

Celebrated for its distinct sweetness and premium quality, the Dinamulag mango continues to attract buyers, tourists and food enthusiasts, reinforcing its role not only as a summer staple but also as an important driver of livelihood for local farmers and small businesses.

In Barangay Palanginan, mango stalls have begun welcoming visitors looking to purchase freshly harvested produce directly from growers. The seasonal trade has also generated interest in a range of value-added products such as mango shakes, dried mangoes and other delicacies that have become popular among travelers exploring the province during the summer months.

Industry stakeholders said the annual mango season highlights the resilience and dedication of Zambales farmers, whose sustained efforts have helped elevate the Dinamulag mango into a sought-after regional product with strong market appeal.

Beyond farmgate sales, the harvest season is also seen to contribute to tourism-related activity, as visitors are drawn to the province for agri-based food experiences and seasonal excursions centered on local produce.

With demand expected to remain strong during the peak summer period, residents and tourists are encouraged to support local growers and take part in the annual celebration of one of Zambales’ most prized agricultural treasures.
