DOH launches ‘Dengvaxia’ information campaign in CSF

The Department of Health Region 3, in partnership with the Department of Education Region 3, launched yesterday the information campaign on dengue and Dengvaxia vaccine in San Isidro Integrated School in the City of San Fernando.

DOH Regional Director Leonita Gorgolon and Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago led the posting of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials related to dengue in all classrooms of the said school which were covered by the vaccination program.


They also distributed copies of the letter for the parents that was released by the office of Health Secretary Francisco Duque. This contains updates on the controversial vaccine and tips on dengue prevention.

DOH R3 targets to visit all affected schools in the entire region this week wherein a total of 205,058 students were vaccinated of at least one dose of Dengvaxia.

Also present during the activity were DepEd Chief Education Supervisor Sammy Sampang and Medical Officer Gladys Lourdes Bengco, City Health Office Staff headed by Dr. Eloisa Aquino, Barangay Officials, and San Isidro IS faculty headed by OIC School Head Mary Jane Mallari.
