DOH to MGCQ, GCQ areas: Strictly observe minimum health standards

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Department of Health (DOH) once again reminded Central Luzon residents to strictly observe minimum health standards as restrictions continue to ease.

Resolution No.46-A of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has placed Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Zambales and Angeles City under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) while Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Tarlac and Olongapo City will remain under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) from June 16-30.

“It is important to note that embracing the new normal as part of our daily living saves us from contracting COVID-19 and other diseases. Now that some areas in the region are placed under MGCQ, wherein a more relaxed community quarantine is implemented, all the more that we must be keen with our health and lifestyle,” DOH Regional Director Cesar Cassion said.

Wearing of face masks, washing hands frequently, observing physical distancing, staying at home and foregoing non-essential travels are still key to keep everyone safe and protected from the virus.

“COVID-19 is still there. This means, we have to continue strengthening our immune system by doing necessary health interventions such as eating a well-balanced diet, having enough rest with at least eight hours of sleep, exercising regularly, and avoiding alcohol and tobacco consumption. Let us continue doing our part in saving lives through constant observation of minimum health standards,” Cassion furthered.

As of June 16, the region has a total of 703 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 410 recoveries and 67 deaths.
