CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) assisted public schools in Central Luzon in preparing their facilities in time for the opening of classes this June.
“We repainted pedestrian lanes, particularly those in front of schools, as well as the classrooms and we also initiated vegetation inside and outside the school premises,” Engineer Janet Nero of DPWH 3 said during the Oplan Balik-Eskwela Regional Launching and Mid-Year Media Conference of the Department of Education.
“Our engineers conducted inspection of the school buildings in areas that were affected by the recent 6.1 magnitude earthquake that struck the region, to check on their structural integrity,” Nero added.
She likewise gave an update on the ongoing construction of school buildings in Bulacan and other provinces that are aimed at making classrooms conducive to the learning and teaching needs of students and teachers. (PIA 3)
