DPWH completes flood control project at Sitio Vietnam

BALER, Aurora — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a flood control project at Sitio Vietnam, barangay Sabang in Baler, Aurora.

The 390-lineal meter slope protection structure is located along the Duongan River.

DPWH Aurora District Engineer Roderick Andal said the project includes construction of stone masonry walls which can be used by fisherfolks to better secure their boats during heavy rains or typhoons.

“Aware of the adverse effects of flooding on residents living along the river, we have augmented the existing 100-lineal meter wall protection along the area to ensure their safety as well as their livelihood,” Andal furthered.

The agency allotted P4.9 million for the project funded under the 2022 General Appropriations Act.

This is part of the district office’s goal to provide their stakeholders with better infrastructure.
