DPWH completes off-carriageway improvement in Dinalupihan

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the off-carriageway improvement project along Jose Abad Santos Avenue (JASA) in Dinalupihan, Bataan.

The P9.79-million infrastructure will benefit motorists and residents of barangay Sta. Isabel.

DPWH Bataan 1st District Engineer Erlindo Flores Jr. said its scope of works includes paving of approximately 432.6 linear meters of road shoulders and construction of concrete slope protection with safety devices measuring 412.6-linear meters.

“The project is seen to improve the safety of road users, as the upgraded road shoulders can serve as an emergency lane for vehicles in need of immediate repair or a safe bike lane for bikers passing through this route,” he explained.

Safety of motorists traveling along JASA will be ensured as the newly constructed concrete slope protection can prevent road collapse.

“The stability of soil slopes is often affected by water seepage caused by continuous heavy rainfall.  We designed the project’s concrete slope protection to effectively protect the road from possible erosion or collapse,” Flores added.

The project was implemented under the agency’s Basic Infrastructure Program with funds sourced from the 2022 national budget. (CLJD-PIA 3)
