DPWH improves Lubao Diversion Road

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed an asphalt overlay project along the 399-lineal meter section of Lubao Diversion Road.

Pampanga 2nd District Engineer Gregorio Audea Jr. said the upgrade of the barangay San Nicolas 2nd portion of the road will have a positive impact not only in transportation but also in local businesses.

“Road signs and reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings were also placed along the enhanced road section to ensure the safety of motorists,” he added.

Both residents and motorists expressed gratitude for the implementation of the project.

“Sana ipagpatuloy yung mga ganiyang proyekto. Kapag maganda ang mga kalsada, gaganda ang takbo ng buhay (I hope they will continue these types of projects. If there are good roads, our lives will be better),” Rizalde Mendoza, a resident who owns a fruit stand in the area, said.

Prior to rehabilitation, this portion often experienced traffic congestion due to vehicles avoiding cracks particularly in parts of the road with pavement damage.

“Listening to words of gratitude coming from our stakeholders motivates us to push ourselves further in fulfilling our duties as public servants,” Audea added.

The P13.9-million project was funded under the 2022 General Appropriations Act.
