DPWH paves 2 rural roads in Hermosa

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) paved two rural roads in Hermosa, Bataan.

These include the 533-linear meter portion of a local road in barangay Maite and the 686-linear meter portion of a local road in barangay Sacrifice Valley.

DPWH Bataan 1st District Engineer Erlindo Flores Jr. said the P9.80-million concreting of the rural road in Maite seeks to enhance travel experience of residents when visiting various government and economic institutions.

“Roads are necessary for farmers to achieve better income as these economic infrastructures will allow them to transport their goods to major markets efficiently.  Projects like these are vital to poverty alleviation as it gives our farmers safer access and better mobility at any time,” he furthered.

Good access makes it easier for farmers to acquire agricultural equipment and supplies, which helps them raise yields and cut production costs that directly enhances food security and lowers the prevalence of poverty in rural communities.

Meanwhile, the P9.79-million road project in Sacrifice Valley will help the residents of the rural barangay get their goods and products to the nearby market.

With its completion, most of the substandard and uneven surfaces have been paved to protect motorists and pedestrians from potential accidents and injuries. (CLJD-PIA 3)
