DTI confers Bagwis Award to 14 consumer-friendly shops in Bataan

BALANGA CITY (PIA) — About 14 business establishments in the province received the Bagwis Award this year from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for upholding the rights of consumers and practicing responsible business.

DTI Bataan Consumer Protection Division Chief Connie Sanico said most of the awardees this year were from the service and repair enterprises.

“It is our first time to confer Bagwis Awards to repair shops here in the province so I hope this would encourage other repair shop owners to apply for the award next year,” Sanico said.

Gold Bagwis Award recipients include All Home Corporation-Bataan, Hannicwil Corporation, Motortrade Nationwide Corporation-Balanga, Addessa Corporation, Almark Gadget Computer Sales & Services, Northstar Automotive Inc., Guanzon Merchandising Corp., Berzon Grocery, Golden ABC Inc, All Shoppe Department Store-Bataan and Yamaha-Balanga.

Silver Bagwis Award, on the other hand, was given to Construction Supply Corporation and LC Construction Supply.

Also, Save More Market-Dinalupihan won the Best Provincial Bagwis Good Practitioner of Sustainable Consumption for its exemplary contribution and strong commitment to environmental protection.

Jocelyn Tuazon, owner of the Berzon Grocery in Balanga City, elevated from Silver to Gold Bagwis Award this year.

“We are really grateful for being the lone grocery store to be awarded this year,” she said. (CLJD/MJSD-PIA 3)
