Duterte allots P1B for Pampanga hospital

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – President Rody Roa Duterte allotted some P1 billion medicine assistance for Jose B. Lingad Hospital through a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Governor Lilia Pineda announced Monday.

Pineda said the fund would be utilized by the regional hospital as part of the government program in providing free medicines to patients.

“President Duterte, JBL and DSWD signed an agreement where in P1-b fund had been allocated for the project,” said Pineda during interview with reporters at the Capitol.

Pineda said the government has lot of funds intended for various services. The problem is, she said the people do not know from what agencies they would seek help.

“The assistance is not only for medicines but include major medical procedures such as dialysis, CT Scan and other ailment that requires high cost of treatment,” Pineda added.

The governor, who is celebrating her birthday on Feb 21, said the allotted fund is a big help for Pampanga as she can maximize the use of funds for other projects including infrastructure and education (scholarship program).

“This is the first time that Pampanga received such magnitude or cost of medicine assistance,” Pineda told reports further, adding that the assistance will serve as support for health services intended for the poor and less fortunate families.

The governor vowed to continue serving the people of Pampanga even beyond her term. “I can be more of service to the people in private capacity…nakadikit na kasi sa akin ang pagtulong lalo na sa mga mahihirap at nangangailangan.”

Pineda will end his nine years in the government service on 2018.

The province chief executive said she will maximize her remaining years in the government attending to extreme health cases. “I’m starting this especially on the preventive health support. Kasi ang nagpupunta sa akin halos malala na sakit kagaya ng cancer at ibang malala na problema sa kalusugan at ang iba ay wala nang kapag-a pagasa.”\

“I hope that our preventive health program would really help para maagapan natin ang kanilang sakit,” Pineda said.
