Duterte breaks ground on new Scout Ranger’s Ville

SAN MIGUEL, Bulacan — Finally, THE Elite Scout Rangers of the Philippine Army will soon have a decent home of their own dubbed as “Scout Ranger Ville,” a project of the National Housing Authority under the Armed Forces of the Philippines/Philippine National Police housing program.

Duterte leads the ceremonial topping during the groundbreaking ceremony of the proposed New AFP/PNP Housing Program in Camp Tecson, San Miguel, Bulacan.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 1,000 housing units for the First Scout Ranger Regiment in Bgy. Calumpang and Tartaro here Wednesday afternoon.

The Chief Executive expects the housing units, which will be build at a subdivision site with rolling green hills, to be completed in a year’s time.

“Now we have delivered what we promised for our soldiers and policemen,” Mr. Duterte said.

Duterte joined the Philippine Army’s Scout Rangers elite who are the beneficiaries of the revived New AFP/PNP Housing Program launched today, October 11, 2017.

“I am also here to pay homage to the heroism of our scout rangers who fought gallantly in Maraw,” he added.

Classified under the AFP\PNP housing programthe project materialized after the agreement was entered into by the Manila Banking Corporation, Department of Budget and Management, NHA, PagIbig Fund, Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council and the Scout Ranger Multipurpose Cooperative for the 50-hectares portion of Manilabank property into a housing site for the scout rangers.

A Php-200 subsidy fund from DBM will finance the construction of the 1,000 housing units for the elite scout rangers.

The President also announced that troops will soon get Kalsnikov rifles from Russia. He also said he will buy brand newmilitary hardwares like helicopters. He said is gratewful for the sniper rifles with scope that China has given to the troops that is in the now in the fighting in Marawi. The Chinese guns are a big help, he said.

Duterte also said that honor will be given to the fallen s in Marawi.

“This problem will still grip the world but we will move on silently,” the President said.

The Chief executive reiterated his promise that he will provide soldiers and policemen comfortable homes.

Gov. Alvarado said that it is with pride and honor that the “Scout Rangers Ville” is home of the elite scout rangers will be constructed in San Miguel, where one of the three Republics –the Republic of Biak-na-Bato—was created during the twilight years of the Philippine revolution against Spanish colonial rule. —EMIL G.
