eJeeps to service Clark airport passengers

ANGELES CITY – The SM Clark Management said the Electric Jeeps (eJeeps) will serve the growing passengers of the Clark International Airport (CRK).

At least four eJeeps amounting to P1.2 million each will ply the route between SM Clark and the Clark airport on a daily basis. A P25 fare per passenger will be collected, a considerable drop from the high passenger fares collected by some unscrupulous jeepney and taxi drivers plying the same route.

12 additional eJeeps will be added to the fleet, according to the SM Clark Management.

The eJeeps were deployed last February 20 in time for the increasing number of travelers utilizing the Clark airport. Philippine Airlines, the country’s flag carrier, had already launched flights at the Clark airport and AirAsia Philippines will also relaunch its flights to Kalibo, Aklan from Clark.

CRK passengers may leave their vehicles at the SM Clark premises and take the eJeeps to Clark airport to catch their flights, according to the SM Clark Management.

SM Clark will serve as the first ‘Park and Fly’ area for the Clark airport.

The eJeep was realized upon the recommendation of Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda to the SM Clark Management to provide an efficient and economical transportation means to the flying public.

This after unsuspecting passengers complained erring drivers in Clark who charge high jeepney and taxi fares.

Pineda had earlier met with SM Vice President Bien Mateo, Regional Operations Head Junias Eusebio, SM Mall Manager Andrea Maglangbayan, 1-Team President Yuri Sarmiento, and LKY Group Operations Manager Anthony Hernandez for the operation of the eJeepneys in the Clark Freeport Zone. –Photos by Venus Manalang (SMCRK)

  1. On the jeep and the tarp it says free ? ride… Then on the article, a 25php fare will be collected per passenger… It’s a bit confusing…

  2. This is a good news! It’s time to improve the public transport services at DMIA. I hope will SM and Clark will implement the MyBus system that we have here in Cebu.
