Ex-Kadamay members undergo body massage training

PANDI, Bulacan, Feb.21 (PIA) — A total of 30 former members of Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (Kadamay) benefitted from the five-day body massage training.

The training was organized by the 48th Infantry Battalion (48th IB) in partnership with the municipal government of Pandi and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

“This training for ex-Kadamay members, now referred to as Pagkakaisa ng Mamamayan Tungo sa Kaayusan, seeks to provide an additional source of livelihood,” 48th IB Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Felix Emeterio Valdez said.

In a statement, 703rd Infantry Brigade Commander Colonel Andrew Costelo lauded the efforts exerted of all involved in making the massage training a success.

“If people are satisfied with their situation and are productive, then there will be less problems that we will be facing,” he said.

For his part, 7th Infantry Division Commander Major General Lenard Agustin said the “whole-of-nation approach” has been an effective tool in the delivery of basic services as well as uniting agencies to create ways and means to address the different issues and concerns of the localities.

“Activities such as free skills training provides opportunities not only to earn but to divert the attention of the people into more productive endeavors,” he said.

Agustin furthered that they shall continue to support trainings that will enable many to be skilled and qualified to certain job opportunities.
