The body of a 33-year old alleged rape suspect was found hanging in a mango tree in Barangay San Francisco, Lubao town on Friday.
The body, police said, was already in a state of decomposition when found by a farmer.
Police identified the cadaver as one Joel Manacmul, 33, who was alleged to have raped the daughter of his live-in partner.
Manacmul, police surmised, may have died 4 to 5 days prior to the discovery of his body.
According to Manacmul’s live-in partner, she kicked him out of the house after finding out that her Grade 6 daughter had been repeatedly molested by the suspect since she was in the 4th grade.
Police are looking at either foul play or suicide angles behind Manacmul’s death.
