Fire hits Dunlop factory in Bataan

MARIVELES, Bataan – A fire broke out Tuesday afternoon inside the factory of Dunlop Philippines Inc. inside the Freeport Area of Bataan.

In a report from the Bataan Police Provincial Office, an explosion was heard while the company’s health and security manager Michael Angelo Rearte was conducting an inventory inside their warehouse. The said explosion resulted to fire that engulfed the other portions of the said place.

Firetrucks from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP Mariveles) and the AFAB Fire Brigade immediately responded to the said place.

The incident was declared fire out by BFP Mariveles with still undetermined amount of damages and without any reported casualty or persons.

The said building is one of the oldest structures in the said Freeport and very few Filipinos knew that the famous tennis balls of Wimbledon are being made in this factory.
