Gadon supports dev’t of MSMEs

Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon said they are banking on the development of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the countryside to cut poverty level.

Gadon, who attended the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between PHILKO 18 Group of Companies and BDO Network Bank, on Thursday at the Quest Plus Conference Center, Clark Freeport Zone, said the MSMEs will help the government in creating opportunities that will contain or reduce poverty in the country.

Gadon said President Ferdinand Marcos intends to eradicate poverty before his term ends.

Said Gadon: “The marching order of the President to us is to cut at least by half the number of our countrymen living under the poverty threshold. And while really it is a tall order, we are doing our best to follow his direction and his advocacy.”

“And the joint efforts of BDO Network Bank and PHILKO Group of Companies is one of the private partnership that we are expecting from the business group that will help us in attaining the cutting of the poverty line by the end of the term of President Marcos.”

Gadon witnessed the MOU signing between PHILKO and BDO Network Bank for the “Business Economic Stimulus Program” that intends to provide stroner and progressive MSMEs.

PHILKO President Michelle Sia has signed the MOU with BDO Network Bank Sales Head Sonny Agapito.

“The purpose of this endeavor which is to create and help Micro Small and Medium Enterprises so that we can provide economic opportunities for our countrymen,” said Gadon.

“And since BDO Network Bank is one of the biggest banks in the country, I am sure that this program can be implemented throughout the country.

This program, according to Gadon, will help in alleviating poverty.
