Go turns over P4M replenishment fund for JBL’s Malasakit Center

Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go turned over on Monday the P4 million replenishment fund for the Malasakit Center at Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital (JBLMRH) that will serve patients in need of medical and financial assistance from the government.

True to his words of “malasakit,” Go went his way to the people as he entered the auditorium, giving comfort and gifts to young patients who were waiting for him at the hospital.

“Para po sa inyo ang Malasakit Center na ito, kami po ni Pangulong Duterte, patuloy po kaming magseserbisyo para sa amin pong kapwa Pilipino,” he said.

During the turnover ceremony, Go, who was assisted by Presidential Assistant for Visayas Michael Dino, handed a check worth of P4 million from the Office of the President to Dr. Monserrat Chichioco, hospital directress of JBLMRH.

Chichioco  thanked the senator for his  support to the Malasakit Center.

“Thank you, Senator, dahil po sa Malasakit center na ito marami na po tayong natulungan, at matutulungan pa,” Chichioco shared.

To date, the center has already served at least 5,500 patients in the region through medical services amounting to P40 million since it was established on October 18, 2018.

This includes medications, operations, dialysis and chemotherapy sessions, and prosthetic implants given to patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery.

For his part, Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda pledged to create an extension office for the Governor’s medical assistance utilizing the Malasakit Center’s one-stop-shop inside the hospital as requested by Go.

“Para hindi na po kayo pumunta ng Kapitolyo, kami na po mismo ang magdadala ng medical assistance sa JBLMRH,” he vowed.

The Malasakit Center is a one-stop-shop of various government agencies to provide and expedite the provision of medical and financial assistance for the poor and marginalized Filipinos.
