Gov. Delta joins blessing, dedication of new academic bldg in DHVSU Apalit Campus

APALIT, Pampanga — Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda joined on Tuesday the blessing and dedication of the Okada Building at the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) Apalit Campus in Brgy. Sampaloc in this town. In his speech, the governor asked the students to prioritize their studies in order to at least repay their parents’ efforts and sacrifices.

He also thanked Senator Lito Lapid, who also graced the event, for his efforts in finding a donor, as well as the Okada Foundation, Inc. for its generosity in donating a total amount of ₱50-million for the realization of the three-story school building that houses twelve (12) classrooms.

James Lorenzana, president of the Okada Foundation, Inc., disclosed that the Okada Building is the first building that their foundation has ever funded.

Aside from donations, Apalit Mayor Jun Tetangco said that the local government of Apalit is continuously providing ₱4-million yearly to cover the staffing and operational costs of the university.

The blessing and dedication of the building was led by Rev. Msgr. Antonio Bustos, parish priest of the St. Peter the Apostle Parish. –Jasmine Jaso/Pampanga PIO
