Indie film ‘Persons of Interest’ to highlight Kapampangan vibe

Another suspense-thriller Kapampangan indie film is in the making under the direction of renowned director Ralston Gonzales Jover with the ATD Entertainment Productions.

Co-producer Dennis Evangelista said said during the story conference on August 21 at Max’s Restaurant in Scout Tuazon, Quezon City that the film ‘Persons of Interest’ will be mostly shot in Mexico, Pampanga.

“The main cast are all Kapampangan natives which include veteran actress Liza Lorena from Magalang, Allen Dizon from Sta. Ana, Dimples Romano from Masantol and our very own broadcast journalist, educator, environmentalist turned  award winning indie film actress Cecile Yumul of Mabalacat City. Sa film ay magka-Kapampangan talaga ang mga actors and actresses but this does not apply to the young ones dahil we have found out na hindi lahat ng kabataan ngayon sa Pampanga ay fluent sa vernacular, and that is why the film also aims to promote the dying language,” Jover highlighted.

New child star JJ Quilantang who plays the role of young Daniel Padilla in La Luna Sanggre will also play a big role in the film.

” Most probably mag-uumpisa ang shooting on September 8 and we will be promoting the Sisig Festival of Angeles City and the rest of the vibrant culture and heritage of the province,” Evangelista said.

The plot revolves on the search who among the persons of interest is liable for the mass poisoning in a festive gathering in Mexico, Pampanga.

“Lahat tayo ay may tinatawag na dark side. Don’t be deceived by their looks,” Yumul exclaimed.

Jover added that this project will be a challenging one since he is only a Kapampangan by heart.

” Napakasarap mag-shoot sa Pampanga. Kapampangans are all beautiful, maiingay and masasaya aside from the delicious cuisines na ibibida namin sa pelikula,” Jover said.

Among other local and international multi-awarded Kapampangan independent films who shook and moved the cinema goers in tears are ‘Magkakabaung’ and ‘100 Tula Para Kay Stella’ of Jason Paul Laxamana, ‘Ari My Life with a King’ produced by the Holy Angel University (HAU) and directed by its proud alumnus Carlo Enciso Catu, ‘Area’ of Louie Ignacio and soon the ‘Aria’ by the Center for Kapampangan Studies of HAU. –Photos by Larrica Angela Cunanan
