Indigenous Peoples Month Photo Exhibit at SM City Olongapo Central

In celebration of the National Indigenous Peoples Month, and the 25th Anniversary of the Indigenous People’s Rights Act (IPRA), SM City Olongapo Central and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) conducted a Photo Exhibit that features Indigenous Cultural Communities and  Indigenous Peoples.

The National Indigenous Peoples month in October is a Philippine observance that aims to support and raise awareness of indigenous cultural communities. It is hoped that more Filipinos will be aware of the numerous contributions of National Indigenous Peoples Month.

“The RA 8371 or IPRA(Indigenous Peoples Rights Act) of 1997 recognized and supported the rights of all indigenous peoples in the Philippines,” said Angelito Aquile, tribal affairs assistant II of NCIP Bataan. “Sa pamamagitan ng IPRA, hangad namin ang pantay na pagtrato sa aming mga katutubo, ” Aquile added.

You can visit the IP photo exhibit at the level 3 of SM City Olongapo Central until October 31, 2022.
