Industry groups turn to Clark, makes it a major MICE location

CLARK FREEPORT— With the developments taking place in this Freeport, various industry groups are now turning here to make it their major location for meetings, incentive travels, conferences and exhibitions (MICE).

In a report by Clark Development Corporation’s (CDC) – Tourism and Promotions Division (TPD), they recorded a total of 913 MICE activities held here last year. Accordingly, these events generated some 123,405 participants where 122,002 of which are local guests and 1,403 are foreign attendees.

In 2018, the major activities that were organized here include the Aeromart Summit where various stakeholders in the aerospace and aviation industries gathered in this Freeport and the Salangian Art Exhibit where they showcased the artworks of some Kapampangan artists.

This month, key players in the construction industry are also expected to converge here as this Freeport hosts the PhilConstruct Luzon on March 28 to 30 at the ASEAN Convention Center. Dubbed as the country’s leading construction show, some 200 brands of building materials, construction equipment and cooling technologies among others will be showcased.

Meanwhile, CDC with Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) support the Philippine Constructors Association as they organized the said event that will also be attended by architects, contractors, and engineers from different parts of the country.

Other tourism activities that are being held here include sports-related events namely fun runs, marathons, duathlon, triathlon, football, tours and festivals among others. This Freeport is also gearing up in hosting the upcoming Southeast Asia (SEA) Games 2019 where athletes and guests from 11 countries of Southeast Asia are expected to flock here.
