Lazatin to work for city gov’t workers’ benefits

Councilor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has assured the Association of Government Employees for a New and Dynamic Angeles City (AGENDA) and the Angeles City Multi-purpose Credit Cooperative (ACMCC) that he will “do his best” to ensure the benefits due to them will be provided by the city government.

“Let’s be patient on this. I, together with Mayor Pamintuan, have your best interests,” Lazatin said.

Lazatin said he is on the same side with Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan on the salary adjustments and additional bonuses of government employees stated in the Executive Order 201 series 2016 signed by then President Benigno Aquino last February.

Lazatin said he is offering his help to Pamintuan “in looking for possible means” to be able to provide the salary adjustments and additional bonuses to the City government employees.

“I am one with the Honorable Mayor Pamintuan on this matter,” Lazatin said.

Executive Order 201, provides for modified salary schedule, including step increments for civilian personnel.

It also states that beginning 2016, a mid-year bonus equivalent to one basic salary “shall be granted to those who have rendered at least four months of satisfactory service.”

The Executive Order also provided that employees will received an increase of productivity bonus, amounting to P5,000.

Lazatin on July 27, 2016, filed a resolution “respectfully requesting the City Mayor thru Local Finance Committee to provide the City Council an update on the status of the implementation of the first tranche compensation adjustment in Local Government Units (LGU’s) as provided under the Executive Order (EO) no. 201 series 2016.”
