LGU-Hermosa inks pact for ‘Zero Kilometer Food Project’

Hermosa Mayor Jopet Inton has signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the Zero Kilometer Food Project.

Mayor Inton said the project is a collaboration between the Department of Agriculture, the local government of Hermosa and Dinalupihan, and Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU). The signing was led by Senior Undersecretary Dept. of Agriculture Domingo Panganiban at the Office of the Secretary in Diliman, Quezon City.

The Zero Kilometer Food Project aims to strengthen local agriculture and provide quality and sufficient food for the citizens. By implementing the zero-kilometer concept, the project hopes to increase food production in nearby communities and help boost the economy.

“This is a great opportunity to support our farmers, grow the agriculture sector, and strengthen the local economy,” Mayor Jopet said.

Among those present at the signing were Asst. Director of Bureau of Agricultural Research Joell Lales, Hermosa Municipal Agriculturist Vincent Mangulabnan, Dinalupihan Municipal Agriculturist Arlene Javier, BPSU Project Leader Glenda Abad MSBio, Rep. BPSU Vice Pres. Dr. Thelma Manansala, Rep. Dinalupihan Municipal Councilor Elizalde Torno and Office of the Provincial Agriculturist-Bataan Engr. John Peter Subiaga.

Mayor Inton expressed his gratitude for the dedication and support for this project and hopes that everyone will continue to work together for the development of their town and province
