Lumba Tamu Zambales 2023 take off

ZAMBALES—The long-awaited Lumba Tamu Zambales 2023, the biggest bicycle race to be held on April 27, 2023 as part of the Dinamulag Festival activities, is now underway.

The 197-kilometer bikathon divided into Open Professional, Open Amateur (18yrs old below), and Open Elite (19yrs old above) Category is sponsored by the Zambales Provincial Tourism Office in collaboration with the Zambales Sports and Youth Development Office.

The race will take the main road of Zambales from Subic to Sta. Cruz and will return to the provincial capital Iba town where it will end.

In the Open Professional category, more than 50 professional cyclists from the Philippine Navy Standard Insurance (PNSI), 7-eleven Cliqq Air 21 by Road Bike Philippine, Go for Gold, Excellent Noodles, Dreyna and Dandex Multi Sports teams registered.

Some of the notables who will participate are El Joshua Cariño, Ronald Oranza, George Oconer, Jun Rey Navarra of PNSI; Rostum Lim of Go for Gold; Marcelo Felipe and Mark John Lexer Galedo of the 7-eleven Cliqq team; Rudy Roque from Tipo, Bataan (individual) and Aldeneil Cabuso from Zambale, carrying the LV Cycle Team.

Zambaleño Ronald Lomotos (PNSI) who is the champion of Ronda Pilipinas 2022 will also compete.

There is also a special participation of 30th Southeast Asian Games medalist Jermyn Prado who will join the participating professional cyclists as a rehearsal for the upcoming SEA Games in Cambodia.

More than 400 cyclists from Metro Manila, Southern Tagalog – CALABAR provinces, Central and Norther Luzon will compete in the Open Amateur (18yrs old below) and Open Elite (19yrs old above) categories.
