Mabalacat City fire olympics champs named

Mabalacat City fire brigade volunteers have synergized in the recent Fire Olympics (station level) led by this city’s Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The firefighting event is part of the month-long activities of the BFP this Fire Prevention Month.

This year’s theme is “Buhay at Ari-arian ay Pahalagahan, Ibayong Pag-iingat sa Sunog ay sa Sariling Pamamahay Simulan.”

Some 65 firefighters of the Law Enforcement Hotline Management (LEHM), Dee Hwa Liong Fire Volunteers (DHLFV), Mabiga Firefighters (MF), Kabalikat Civicom (KC) and Peace Action and Rescue with Dedication to Serve the Society (PARDSS) have proved their fire response skills on hose laying and replacement, bucket relay and flammable liquid fire extinguishment on Friday, March 13 at the Mabiga Court, Barangay Mabiga.

“This served as a refresher training course para sa ating mga volunteers to be prepared during emergency situations,” Fire Officer 3 Richard Medina said.

City Fire Marshal Marilyn Buslig has conferred the over-all champion award to LEHM followed by the DHLFV, MF and KC.
With this, LEHM will be representing the city in the upcoming regional fire Olympics.

By virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 115-A, the month of March was declared as Fire Prevention Month due to alarming increase of fire incidents nationwide.
