The Philippine National Police (PNP) has intensified its manhunt against the eight remaining suspects in the death of PAL flight attendant Christine Dacera.

Makati Police Chief Col. Harold Depositar said tracker teams have been deployed to locate and contact the other persons of interest in the case which triggered public outrage.

The police already arrested three suspects namely: John Pascual Dela Serna III, 27; Rommel Daluro Galido, 29; and John Paul Reyes Halili, 25. The three suspects were charged with the crime of rape with homicide.

Depositar said officials are awaiting the official autopsy and medical reports, which he said are expected to be released today, January 5, 2021.

The death of Dacera has sparked outrage in the social media with netizens calling for the revival of the death penalty.

Dacera’s family called on the remaining suspects and other persons of interests to turn themselves in and cooperate with authorities to resolve the case.

Atty. Jose Ledda III, legal counsel of Dacera’s family said the “family deserves justice and peace.” “Echoing the sentiment of the family, siguro ‘yung may mga alam, if you guys are truly the friends of Christine, please umamin na kayo.”

“Para kung sa tingin ninyo wala kayong kasalanan, malinis ninyo ang reputasyon ninyo. Kasi hindi naman habang buhay pwede niyong takasan ‘tong nangyaring ‘to eh. The family deserves justice and peace.”

The 23-year old Dacera was found unconscious in the bathtub of her hotel room in Poblacion, Makati City on New Year’s Day following a party with friends the night before. She was declared dead at the hospital.

Hours before her death, Dacera was able to talk with her mother in General Santos City.
