HERMOSA, Bataan — Municipal Mayor Jopet Inton has raised at least P1.3 million as reward for the information that will lead to the arrest of the master mind or the main suspect for the murder of a municipal councilor here last Saturday, April 29.
“Our governor, Abet Garcia will give P1 million and mine is P300,000,” Mayor Inton told this reporter in a phone interview.
Report from Hermosa municipal police station stated that the shooting incident transpired in Barangay Mambog here wherein victim, Danilo Basi, 63, male, married, Municipal Councilor of this municipality and a resident of Barangay Mambog.
A witness said Basi was walking on his way home from his farm when one of the four suspects armed with long firearm shot the victim several times, hitting him in his body. Thereafter, suspects fled to the direction of Orani town on board a black Toyota sedan.
The victim was immediately rushed to the Bataan Peninsula Medical Center in Dinalupihan but later declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The motive of the killing is yet to be established as reported by Bataan Police Director, Senior Supt. Benjie Silo, Jr. as of press time. – photos and text by
