ABUCAY, Bataan – A 33-year-old resident of Minalin, Pampanga was killed in a buy bust operation that resulted to an armed encounter passed 9p.m. today in Barangay Mabatang of this municipality.
This was confirmed to this reporter via a phone interview with Police Senior Inspector Jennifer Cruz, OIC chief of police of Abucay Municipal Police Station.
In an initial report, Cruz identified the suspect as Jonathan Ilano Sr., 33, alias Abdul, a resident of Lourdes, Minalin, Pampanga.
The police said Ilano drew his Caliber 38 handgun and fired at them that ensued to a firefight and resulted to his instantaneous death.
The operatives recovered the unmarked revolver and the marked money used in the operation.
Scene of the crime operatives and the PNP personnel were already at the crime scene as of press time.
