More control points in Bulacan installed as province back to MECQ

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Philippine National Police has established more control points in the different barangays and main thoroughfares of Bulacan as it reverts to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).

Central Luzon’s most populous province joins National Capital Region, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal in returning to MECQ from August 4-18 as President Rodrigo Duterte heeded the call of healthcare workers for a “time out” as cases continue to surge in those areas.

Police Regional Director BGen. Rhodel Sermonia said a total of 346 police officers were deployed to man 41 control points  for city/municipality boundaries; 18 control points for provincial boundaries (Bulacan-Metro Manila and Bulacan-Pampanga); and 12 control points for North Luzon Expressway exits.

“Strict implementation of the MECQ guidelines is now being instituted provincewide. Only those who are providing basic services, daily essentials, essential goods, utilities, and other authorized personnel are allowed to enter and exit the boundaries of the province. I appeal to the public to adhere to our guidelines and to stay inside their homes,” Sermonia added.
