More than 370 young athletes join Alaska IronKids competitions

Subic Bay Freeport – More than 370 young athletes from all over the country have joined the Alaska IronKids triathlon competitions at the WOW Recreation and Activity Center in Subic Bay.

IronKids is a three-in-one sport which combines, swimming, cycling, and running, which tests one’s physical and mental will.

Mr. Fred Uytengsu, SEI President and Alaska Milk Corporation Chairman of the Board, shared that while they enjoy the race by ‘playing’ the sport, Alaska IronKids promotes creative ways to instill sportsmanship and discipline to young athletes.

Winners from age group 13 to 14 years old men’s and women’s division.

Winners from age group 6 to 8 years old men’s and women’s division.

Alaska IronKids youngest participants tried his best to reach to the finish line.

“More than encouraging healthier, active lifestyles, Alaska IronKids offers children and teens the opportunity to build confidence and learn the values of discipline, hard work, and perseverance, while making new friends and having fun!,” said Uytengsu.

While teaching children the values of hard work, determination, team work, sportsmanship, and discipline, Alaska IronKids provides an avenue for kids to make the most of their time and energy to engage in sports instead of playing video games or browsing the Internet.

It also allows them to mingle and make new friends while having fun.

Winners from ages group 6 to 8 years old division are Rafael Miguel Ubiadas (1st place) followed by Kydan Gabriel Sy (2nd place) and Charles Philip Andallo (3rd place) for boy’s division, Mikayla Miracle Salada bags the 1st place followed by Sinagtala Cuevas (2nd place) and Sophia Relf (3rd place) for the women’s division.

In the 9 to 10 years old category, Darell Johnson emerged in the 1st place followed by Raphael Matthew (2nd place), and Gabriel Augusto Villanueva (3rd place) in men’s over all division. In women’s division, Patricia Liberato bagged the 1st place, Alyssa Khim, Cabatian (2nd place) and Maria Francesca, Barretto (3rd place).

Winners from ages group 11 to 12 years old are Rob Jarrel Balderas in 1st place, followed by the Tayag brothers Juan Miguel (2nd place) and Jose Maria (3rd place) while in the women’s division Aubrey Tom got the 1st place, Kira Ellis (2nd place) and Princess Jullianne (3rd place).

For the ages 13 to 14 years old Zedrick James Borja bagged the 1st place followed by Ronel Victor Cruz (2nd place) and Clifford Pusing (3rd place). In women’s division, Lady Samantha Junac got the 1st place, Honny May Yanong (2nd place) and Katrina Salazar (3rd place). (Dante M. Salvana)
