MPTC studies traffic density at NLEX San Simon Exit

QUEZON CITY – The Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the holding company North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), is making a study on the density of vehicles passing along NLEx San Simon exit in Pampanga.

Raul L. Ignacio, NLEX Corporation Senior Vice President for Tollways Development and Engineering, said they are “aware” of the traffic at the San Simon exit, especially when several trucks enter and exit the interchange. The
presence of several factories in San Simon also increases the number of trucks using the exit.

The study also involves the exits in Angeles City, Dau and Sta. Ines – all in Pampanga.

Ignacio disclosed the study will be completed within a month.

The MPTC continuously improve the NLEx, said Rodrigo Franco, MPTC and NLEx Corp. President and CEO.

He added the MPTC shelled out P3.7 billion for the ongoing enhancement projects at the NLEX, SLEX and CAVITEX. The MPTC is also the holding company of SLEX and CAVITEX.

Franco disclosed the 64 new lanes between Sta. Rita, Guiguinto, Bulacan and Sta. Ines, Mabalacat City, Pampanga have been fully opened this year.
