NAPOLCOM runs after fake eligibility

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Following its intensified campaign against fake height waivers, the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) has started its investigation on the use of fake eligibilities by applicants who want to join the police service.

“The move started after the recent discovery of a fake NAPOLCOM eligibility used by an applicant in the latest recruitment phase. It happened after the Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Division of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO 3) requested us to confirm a certification of entrance examination rating submitted by one of its recruits,” NAPOLCOM Regional Director Rodolfo Grande Santos Jr. said.

Verification made by Personnel Section of the NAPOLCOM Region 3 indicated that signatures, dry seal, and rubber stamp used to authenticate the certification were forged and replicated, respectively.

“The investigating team found out that the documents the applicant submitted to PRO 3 was allegedly supplied by a contact claiming to be from the NAPOLCOM Central Office in Quezon City for a fee of Php60,000,” Santos disclosed.

Among the discoveries were official receipt number for certification fee collected to another applicant; the certificate number issued was likewise in the name of another individual.

The original report of rating was printed in an ordinary bond paper without any indication of security threads was also used instead of the official security paper issued by the NAPOLCOM.

Relative to this, Santos reiterated to aspiring applicants to the police service that the release of NAPOLCOM examination report of ratings does not require any fee and that the issuance of certification is only Php150.

He also made a stern warning that applicants found to be using fake NAPOLCOM eligibility or any eligibility for that matter, shall be dealt with accordingly.

Santos also ordered the review of all NAPOLCOM eligibilities submitted by police recruits covering the last five years. (CLJD-PIA 3)
