NE monsoon to bring light rains across Luzon Wednesday

The northeast monsoon affecting Luzon will continue to bring light rains across the island, the weather bureau said Wednesday.

Cloudy skies with light rains will prevail over the Cagayan Valley region, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, and the Bicol region (except Sorsogon), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Meanwhile, the tail-end of a frontal system and a low-pressure area (LPA) will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro, Sorsogon, and Masbate.

PAGASA said the LPA was last tracked 210 km. south of Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur.

The Davao and Soccsksargen regions will experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will continue over Luzon and the Visayas.In Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
