New Hermosa FMR Project seen to boost agriculture

In a move that promises to benefit the farming communities of Sitio Nazareno – Culis in Hermosa, Bataan, the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) under the Department of Agriculture has awarded the farm-to-market road (FMR) project.

The project, which was recently personally handed over by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., is set to improve the transportation of agricultural products from the rural areas to the market, making the supply chain more efficient.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the project was held in Barangay Culis, with local government officials led by Hermosa Mayor Jopet Inton and representatives from various agencies in attendance.

Hermosa Vice Mayor Patrick Rellosa and members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Municipal Agriculture OIC Vincent Mangulabnan, Rep. from Office of the Provincial Agriculturist Julio Jose Tuazon, RPCO III – IBuild Component Head Engr. Elmer Tubig, Regional Project Director Dr. Arthur Dayrit, PH.D, Regional Executive Director Crispulo Bautista Jr., and representative from Office of the Congresswoman Geraldine B. Roman, Dr. Edmund Castañeda, all graced the occasion.

The said project, Mayor Inton said, is a significant boost to the agricultural sector of Hermosa, Bataan, as it will provide farmers with easier access to the market. With this new road infrastructure, farmers can now transport their goods faster, safer, and at a lower cost. The project is also expected to increase the income of farmers in the area, which can lead to an improvement in their standard of living.

In a statement, Mayor Jopet expressed his gratitude to President Marcos Jr. for the grant that will benefit the people of Hermosa. He also assured the public that the local government will continue to work closely with the national government to ensure the continued development of the municipality.

“As the farm to market road project gets underway, the people of Hermosa are looking forward to a brighter future for their farming communities. With this project, the promise of a more prosperous and sustainable agricultural sector in the municipality is within reach,” Mayor Inton told local newsmen.
