CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, Pampanga — Construction of the New Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) of Clark International Airport (CRK) is now 93.31 percent complete and will be operational by mid-2020.

Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines Director General Jim C. Sydiongco shared this good news to aviation stakeholders during the Institutionalized Leveraging of Infrastructure Program for Airport Development or iLIPAD Conference 2020.

At present, the site preparation works, earth works, foundation and substructure works, superstructure works, hollow core slab and the roof structure and sheeting have been completed.

Ongoing works which are in various stages of completion include the exterior finishes, ancillary facilities, specialist systems and equipment and landside works.

“Once finished, the new PTB will boost and triple the current passenger capacity from 4.2 million to 12.2 million passengers annually,” Sydiongco disclosed.

The PTB will be connected with a railway system from Tutuban to Clark which will have partial operability by 4th quarter of 2021.

“The development at CRK is seen not just to help decongest Ninoy Aquino International Airport but also to generate various jobs and push for economic growth in North and Central Luzon,” the official emphasized.
