P102M shabu recovered; 3 arrested in Cavite

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) had arrested the main supplier of shabu in Cavite, Region 4A, NCR and Zamboanga City on Thursday during a buy-bust operation.

PDEA Director General Aaron N Aquino presented Ronnie M. Menodiado to members of the media at the PDEA National Headquarters along with his two companions identified as Victorio V. Najera and Annie Rose T. Lingua.

The three were arrested by PDEA Special Enforcement Service led by Director Levi Ortiz during a buy-bust operation along Molino Boulevard corner Aguinaldo Hiway, Talaba 4, Bacoor City, Cavite on Thursday.

Menodiado was reportedly the main source of shabu in Cavite the whole of Region 4A and also distributes shabu in NCR areas and in Zamboanga City.

Aquino said the 15 kilos of shabu had been packed inside Guanyinwang tea bags.

Case of violation of Section 5 in relation to Section 26 Article II, RA 9165 is being prepared against the suspects.

The PDEA also disclosed the new modus operandi of drug dealers wherein the pusher will park his vehicle at a designated place. After a while, the main source, with a duplicate car key, will put the shabu inside the pusher’s vehicle. The pusher will come back and retrieve his car with shabu in it. 

PDEA said these suspects are frequenting colleges targetting students in the region.

The arrest of Monodiado came shortly after the arrest of Junior Sakilan Utto and his wife Misreen Suraik Utto in Barangay Molino 3, Bacoor Cavite. Seized from the Uttos were two kilos of shabu worth P13.6 Million.         

The Uttos pointed to Menodiado as the main source of shabu which led to his arrest on Thursday.
