ANGELES CITY — Some P390,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu), also known as poor man’s cocaine, had been confiscated by anti-illegal drugs operatives during buy bust operation at Sitio Ipil, Barangay Pulung Maragul in this city late Wednesday afternoon.

Two suspected members of a local drug group were arrested. They were Bryan Espinola, 38, and a 16-year old school drop-out.

Police Major Jayson Constantino, Station 3 police chief, said the drug bust was conducted following reports on alleged involvement of the suspects in the illegal drugs trade operating in different areas in this city.

Constantino said his men laid down a dragnet along Fidela Street where the suspects and poseur buyer agreed to meet for a drug deal past 4 p.m.

Moments later, the police chief said both suspects surfaced and were quickly arrested after a  brief talked.

Seized from the suspects include 24 pieces of small plastic sachets carrying crystalline substance believed to be shabu approximately weighing 55 grams with street value of not less than P390,000.

The operatives also seized the marked money used by poseur buyer in sting operation.

Police Colonel Joyce Patrick Sangalang, director of the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO), said drug bust is part of the series of anti-illegal drugs operations launched by Angeles City government against the menace of society.

Sangalang said the suspects were brought to ACPO detention facility as violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is being readied against them.
