PAF Reserve Command holds outreach activity in Bamban

TARLAC CITY — A total of 150 Indigenous Peoples (IP) families from sitio Baging and sitio Gayaman in barangay Anupul, Bamban town received grocery items from the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC).

AFRC Commander Major General Arthur Cordura said the activity is in support to the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, and to bring the Armed Forces of the Philippines and other government agencies closer to the IPs.

“The outreach program is a testament of our commitment to engage and provide sustainable assistance to IP in the far-flung areas. The IP community at sitio Gayaman is an adopted community of the AFRC,” Cordura stressed.

Aside from the distribution of goods, AFRC held a dialogue with the local chieftains, local government officials, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, and the provincial Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) to discuss issues and concerns of the communities as well as the government response and programs.

“AFRC is looking forward to the implementation of high impact projects in collaboration with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-led PRLEC,” he furthered.

The activity is in line with the celebration of AFRC’s 41st Founding Anniversary on December 2 which carries the theme “AFRC@41: Creating Value and Harnessing Reservists Role in-Sync with a LEAD ONE Philippine Air Force.”
