CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Governor Lilia Pineda said “Pampanga is number two most peaceful province in the Philippines according to the records of the Philippine National Police (PNP).”
Pineda cited the report during the Punong Barangay Assembly on Community Peace and Order and Public Safety recently held at Kingsborough International Convention Center here.
Pineda said the province’s intensive campaign against illegal drugs and the coordination between the police and the barangay captains made Pampanga one of the most peaceful provinces in the country.
“Bumaba ang krimen, walang rape, walang robbery, maganda ang peace and order natin dahil sa massive campaign natin laban sa droga lalo na sa tulong ninyong mga kapitan,” Gov. Pineda said.
During the assembly, Pineda tasked the barangay captains to have a record of all motorcycle owners in their areas of jurisdiction.
The governor’s order came as the Philippine National Police (PNP) shifted its focus on motorcycle riding-in-tandem criminals after it was officially delisted as the main operating force in the government’s campaign against illegal drugs.
The governor said the move will help law enforcers in curbing crime committed by rmotorcycle-riding suspects. –LIEZEL CAYANAN/PIO
