PDEA declares Bataan and Aurora as drug-cleared provinces

BALANGA CITY- The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Central Luzon has acknowledged the official drug-free declaration of the provinces of Bataan and Aurora last Saturday, February 1 at the Bataan People’s Center.

Central Luzon Police Director, Police Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia said this is the first drug-free declaration in Region III and the entire island of Luzon. 

Bataan Governor Albert Raymond Garcia and Aurora Acting Governor Christian Noveras received their respective Certificates and Plaques of Recognition for drug-clearing all their component barangays per Dangerous Drugs Board regulation regarding the strengthening the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP).

Bataan Police Director, Police Col. Villamor Tuliao thanked the Bataan LGUs led by Gov. Garcia, Pilar Mayor and Bataan Provincial Anti- Illegal Drugs Convenor Charlie Pizarro, Jr. and all the stakeholders who helped the PNP achieved their goal. 

DILG Undersecretary for Barangay Affairs Martin Diño was the guest of honor of the said activity which was attended by key officials from different government agencies from PDEA headed by Regional Director Lyndon Aspacio, PNP, DILG, partner agencies, reformists and barangay officials from Bataan and Aurora.

Deputy Chief PNP for Operations; Police Lt. General Guillermo Eleazar represented the PNP Chief, Gen. Archie Gamboa while a video message from Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa was played along with his birthday greetings to Governor Garcia. 

Former drug dependent, ex-convict and son of the late King of Comedy, Rodolfo “Dolphy Jr.” Quizon gave his inspirational message for the drug reformists on how he overcame drug addiction through faith in God.
