PDRF inaugurates first private sector-led and operated Emergency Operations Center in Clark

Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo lead top officials of private companies in the ribbon-cutting ceremony formally inaugurating the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) Emergency Operations Center in the Clark Freeport Zone on Wednesday, April 4. The PDRF Emergency Operations Center is the first private sector-led and operated Disaster Management Operations Center in Central Luzon. Focused on disaster resilience, the center acts as a 24/7 self-sufficient operations hub geared towards training for disaster preparedness and coordination of relief and recovery efforts during major disasters. The Clark International Airport will play a vital role in the relief and recovery efforts during major disasters around the country. With the former president are: Metro Pacific Investment Corporation Chairman and PLDT Chairman and President and CEO and PDRF Co-Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan; Ayala Corporation Chairman and CEO and PDRF Co-Chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala II; PDRF President Rene Meily; PDRF Chief Resilience Officer and National Competitiveness Council Co-Chairman Guillermo Luz; Magsaysay Maritime Corporation President and CEO Doris Magsaysay-Ho; United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Resident Coordinator Ola Almgren; Undersecretary Ricardo Jalad of the Office of Civil Defense; Alberto Lina, founder and chairman of the Lina Group of Companies; DOST Undersecretary and Phivolcs Officer-in-Charge Renato Solidum; and Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President and CEO Noel Manankil, among others.
