Pilar declares partial lockdown due to COVID-19

PILAR, Bataan — The municipal government of Pilar declared Wednesday partial lockdown in view of the implemented Enhanced Community Quarantine due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

In a statement, both public and private vehicles are strictly prohibited to enter and exit the town at all times.

Local officials are urging its constituents to stay at home, unless when buying necessary goods and basic commodities such as food and medicines.

Residents are advised to coordinate with their respective barangay for accommodation using authorized service vehicles.

Employees of banks, money transfer services, groceries and convenience stores, public market, food chains or restaurants, telecommunications, water and energy companies, and other private businesses allowed to operate are also encouraged to coordinate with barangay officials for issuances of certificates or clearances to allow them to go in and out of the town.

Moreover, there will also be service vehicles provided for health workers in both public and private health institutions.

The local government unit stressed that it is strictly implementing social distancing measures and asked public cooperation.
